    Thanks all.

    I was just going to get a Honda CB600 or the like, I dont plan to do a LOT of serious off road and I never had a problem with my speed triple on metal. But again Im not an expert, here to learn and suck in any knowledge.

    Pretty sure it is heresy to say it but with your budget, your timeframe and your health I would say buy a car over here and run it in to the ground. No need to spend a large part of your budget on clothing you will never wear again, you can ignore our changeable weather and can carry a tent or sleep in it with no worries. NZ has some great riding roads for sure, some even surfaced half as good as a UK B road, but if you really want to fit in 1.5 islands in the time you have I wouldn't worry about two wheels.

    And where do you think are you going to eat your take away blue cod and chips when it is raining anyway?
