I've not done one for many years but I am not adverse to doing one and expect that I'll learn several things that will be of benefit to me. I should bloody sign up for a refresher to get rid of those bad habbits I have no doubt picked up.....

You don't believe you could learn something?

In the field of psychology, the Dunning–Kruger effect is a cognitive bias wherein people of low ability suffer from illusory superiority, mistakenly assessing their cognitive ability as greater than it is. The cognitive bias of illusory superiority derives from the metacognitive inability of low-ability persons to recognize their own ineptitude; without the self-awareness of metacognition, low-ability people cannot objectively evaluate their actual competence or incompetence.

Of course you have some bad riding habbits. Ones that don't make you fall off, but may ultimately result in grief. Following too close for example.
Not wearing correct protection (how many riders have you see in CHCH lately in T-shirts, sans gloves...)

    Little things.

Speeding up when you see a bus in front of you that you don't know will pull out or not is a bad habit.
I mentioned vegetables once, but I think I got away with it...........

Death or injury is not reliant of the other party being at fault.

If you don't screw up ... you will be fine. You control your speed. You decide where you place yourself on the road ... so put yourself in the right place on the road. If you prang ... it wasn't the right place at all and learn from that.

Without proper training ... learning can be expensive and painful.

But dogs are small, much smaller than horses, so they must be much less than 1 horsepower. Your bike has many horsepowers, so you should have no trouble out accelerating a dog. Simple physics.
Riding cheap crappy old bikes badly since 1987
