another view. also latest voltage regulator and electronic fuse box with new loom
This is the reason not huge amounts have been done on the RG... but there has been progress.
Was trying to get this going for the Cold Kiwi.. but a coil failed and it took a little longer to sort.
But I have large pictures... so much effort, time for a beer!

Had a 7/11 just not what I wanted. Priced up the work to build a 1230 engine add the fruit to what I already had and the bill was $$$ so I purchased the race bike off TM (very nice guy I might add, I am sure there was a tear in his eye or it was the wind.....as he left) and combined the two to get what i wanted. Had to sell my GSX1100E to fund this but end result is something close to my perfect kat.
Wife said... and who listens to their bitch, NO MORE MONEY... WTF. Not something I am used to..really. You got a hair cut 3 months ago, and I'm bold. Lets make sacrifices for the good of my shed. Selfish cow.
My old Kat had the 17rear / 18front wire rims for road clearance, better brakes and the exhaust... which by the way fitted perfectly, sort of. I prayed it would fit and it did, sort of, OK a little grinding was needed on the swing arm rear stand mounts. Add a new wiring loom, electronic fuse box, latest R&R, new stator, bandit controls, Brembo stuff and volatility stacks with foam filters which removed a flat spot. It was good to go... but not. Picture still has the K&N filters. Which by the way look cooler.
Previous owner had done a great job on the engine, starts with a tough of the button, wants to lift the front and idles like no bike I have tuned. A credit to this man. I pulled the clutch cover to polish.. lucky I did and the clutch hub was stuffed and the steel insert in the clutch hub was rooted. Loose as a goose, warn out. From racing..New clutch hub and where good to go for a while. Next up will be a fancy seat, not that the wife will ever sit on it! , oil cooler where it should go.. earls and upgraded clutch. (told kids education comes first, maybe next year) that does not work for me... Cams..might need to look for women who likes bikes, beer cuzzling men and bold heads. Should not be to hard to find. Do love a 1230 EFE. Dream come true, torque by the fist full. Do you think Thai women can clean bikes, houses and spends FA on clothes? After all, when investing in an upgrade I want something that works hard, earns good cash and wear FA. OH and better not have family that want to live at my house.
photos to follow.

But but what about the RG of loveliness?
Took the Kat for a burn today, rear brake master cylinder needs a rebuild but hay.. who needs a rear brake. Actually me. Missed it for hill starts etc.
Long story short, I love the 1230 kit sooo much torque. The 1135 is good for just sitting in top gear, this is even better. But when that throttle gets turned and the rev counter starts passing 6k holly shit.
Might be puss compared to a modern shitter but holly molly the RS36 just start sucking air and the dam thing wants to go. Real kick in the pants. Nice feeling to the ton and that's about where I stop.
Oh well large pictures are gone again!

What are you starting with Pete? And where do you want to finish?
I find myself spending far too much time at night scouring obscure parts sites looking for unobtainable parts I can't afford. I dunno how you guys can do it sometimes.
And I to my motorcycle parked like the soul of the junkyard. Restored, a bicycle fleshed with power, and tore off. Up Highway 106 continually drunk on the wind in my mouth. Wringing the handlebar for speed, wild to be wreckage forever.

With some of my see you later money from WMCC, I purchased an 11000 Miles old GSX1000SZ. Always wanted one, and for what I want to do, this was perfect. I can't afford/don't want to try and own an original one. Always wanted a hot-rod one. This had period correct bits (Kosman braced swingarm, Fox Super Bike Shox, Yoshi exhaust etc etc). Maybe around 1170cc...need good brakes...and how I want it to look.
