    Current State of Akaroa Rd

Thought you may be interested, the Akaroa Rd seems to be getting lots of roadworks at the moment, so large patches on road with gravel. There was a large section of stop go this afternoon.

They resurfaced the bit leading into Barry's bay going to Akaroa, looks to have improved though in the week since done.

And yet people still dress like Rossi and ride it like it's the Nurburgring.

13th Corner after passing lane on outside looks like it has been resurfaced, going from cooptown to hilltop

It really fucks me off that they cannot make a decent road surface. FFS. What a waste of rates.

What ever happened to a decent surface appraisal before hurtling around a corner?

Do we really need to talk about roads as if they are race tracks?

    When they aren't?

Resurfaced does not mean it will be better than it was ... or better (or worse) in the near future.

Any road can (at best) be only hoped to be ... as good as the last time you rode it. This can be confirmed only by you ... when you ride it.

Went over on Saturday and couldn't believe how bad some parts of the road were.
Stupid roading contractor's taking down works signs while the road was still covered in gravel is just asking to kill someone. Saw an older 990 Duke had gone down not far in front of me.

I'm entirely unclear on the attraction of riding on a crap road with a zillion camper vans. Especially now that it's as smooth as a cheese grater.
