Topical thread at this particular time

Hi all, sold the bike this morning pending payment.
The bike is on hold until July 2018, thus I did put it on hold for 12 months back in 2017...
When I go to register it, will the registration kick in from that day? no back dating etc?
Thanks for the time to taken to read and provide feedback!

You're safe, its been on hold over three months. You'll be charged from the day you reregister.

if say you put the bike on hold in dec and sold it now and you re-license it now then you would have to back pay but if you leave it for the new owner to do when they change ownership then it will not cost you anything nor will the new owner have to pay backdated, their new license period will start from the day they re-license.

but, if you haven't had it on hold and there is outstanding license fees on the vehicle then you will get a bill for the outstanding portion up until the date the vehicle ownership is changed, and if the new owner does not do this straight away then you keep paying.
