    CBTA Rule Change

The CBTA rules have recently changed (1/2/18) in response to people kicking the arse out of them.

You have to hold a 6R for at least 9 months before you are allowed to do your 6F CBTA assessment.

Once passed, you still have to wait until your 12 months is up before obtaining your 6F.

    Just FYI.

    What was it before?

Still a waste tho, should still be 6L - 6F; 6R serves no actual purpose

I think, but don't quote me, the blood alcohol level is slightly higher on 6R than 6L.
The other bonus is no L plate to display.
Other than that I believe everything is the same - no riding outside of 10pm to 5am, no pillion, LAMS bike, etc.

I really don't know why I bother. All but one of the fatal crashes involving a motorbike in January were primarily the riders fault so you are wrong on that count. You could argue they might have been unlucky in some cases but they put themselves in to the position which directly led to them coming to a very sudden stop.

Four riders under 35 and two over 60 out of the nine involved would suggest you are wrong on the mid life crisis bit as well. You should perhaps change the record once in a while.

When a chap from the SCU shares details, I’d sooner listen to his facts than your ongoing BS.

Used to be that as soon as you got your 6R, you could do your 6F test. Now you have to wait at least 9 months.

The minimum 12 months on your 6R hasn't changed.

When the GDLS started the difference between 6L and 6R included not being able to exceed 70 kmh on your 6L. That was stupid, and got deleted early in the scheme.

Now the only difference is the L plate.

Fuck no, I'm not the Police, how very dare you. I do have access to the actual crash reports though so know not to believe everything I read in the papers.

I had that 70 restriction for a bit. Ruled out motorways. Was very stupid.

I must say the CBTA system sounds much better.
