they are for looks not engineering reasons, they are not as nice flowing as a normal one and they can heat the rear shock etc

the only thing they do is clean up the lines wrt to aerodynamics

Looks like you're trying to compensate for something. Bet it sounds great though.

Surely i can't be the only one who thinks its ugly.

would probably look quite good if the can was 4 inch's shorter

Of course it's ugly! That's what makes it beautiful

    Form over function.

Not a great place to stick something that gets that hot.

    Loss of underseat storage.

Having said that I wouldn't say no to a new Triumph Sprint!

Well it sounds like your're happy with it Fart, and that's what counts.

Was there such a great gap between the can and the plastics (where the indicators & plate is mounted) before, or has it widened up considerably with the new 'canon'?

Can you please upload a pic showing the whole of the bike from the rear? The closeups don't do it justice methinks. :spudwow:

    Thanks mate.

There is a large gap between the plastic and the new can. The old can was abit wider and had insulation shield attached which fill in alot of room and is very heavy. The Carbon can is not also lighter but doesnt get as hot as the stainless steel factory can so dont really need insulation.
