    Nah. I had dealings with a hit and run through work. The Police were glad to get the complaint, "We've been after him for a long time". So they charged him with failing to keep left.
    When I asked what happened at court I was told he failed to appear and the new fine was added to the $6,000 that he already owed - and wasn't paying.

    A solicitor of my acquaintance was saying one of his clients owed over $10,000 in accumulated fines. Mostly no warrant or Rego etc, apparently they rack up quickly, but his client didn't click that his shit box car is like a magnet to a bored cop.

    When a judge does put someone on PD to work off the fines, if you divide the amount owed by the hours awarded you could be forgiven for thinking the guilty party was a heart surgeon.
