    Hi,

I dropped my bike off for shipment to the UK at GT Logistics, talking to others in the office they were shipping theirs across the Tasman. I can't comment on GT's service as I was dealing with a 3rd party and not them directly.

    there will be other options.

I'd be interested in hearing how you get on as this is something I am considering for the future.

    cheers

Australia has recently brought in maximum % of asbestos in imports. I'm hearing stories of clutch plates, brake linings and disc pads being removed to comply.

If your bike is coming back out of Aussie, you may be OK on a carnet. If OP has sold to a collector and the purchaser is looking to register it in Oz, could be problems.
If it's sold, personally, I'd break it down till it fits in a crate under 1 cube and ship it as spares.....

GT logistics is a name I have heard, but have used ATWF for years. www.atwf.co.nz.

Permanent import I think into Aussie needs a certificate or prior approval from their customs dept. Well it used to!

Thanks guys for the input-The buyer lives in Oz and will register there-he is also paying all freight costs and is applying for importation into Oz-I will put him on to the recommended forwarders. All I am doing is crating it and delivering to a depot.
