That's alright man. I actually successfully bought a tyre off him with the only disadvantage of my wife having to climb over parts to find him to fit the tyre, so I dunno why he can be a bit difficult really.

If a man is alone in the woods and there isn't a woke Hollywood around to call him racist, is he still white?
Go here guys, http://www.motorcyclewrecker.com/ great service and there is a price list there too, pretty good prices imo. Replies to questions very quickly too.
He's a good man, bought my bike from him, although she needed serious servicing. He helped me finding a back rack (from Ventura in Hamilton) and mounted it for $10. I understand they're not having the best of times.
I dunno what it is about Bryce--He has always bent over backwards to help me. And I must say to the extreme of finding me a fairly expensive item from someone else -with no chance he would make money out of the situation.
That said well Henry at Takinini wreckers is a KB member and is very happy to help out. Ya can PM him as TAKA

I didn't have a problem with Bryce. Got a ZZR250 LH handlebar (which I ended up not needing) through him from trademe (he's there as well).
Bloody quick. He answered questions quickly, and when I bought the auction at 1000ish in the morning on a monday, it was at my door tuesday morning.
Tak M/C didn't have any handlebars at the time either
edit: frosty, he is TAKM here... not TAKA![]()

I've enquired about parts there a couple of times via email and never received any reply, so probably wouldn't even bother next time.... However no response or a response weeks later seems to be the norm for quite a few of the NZ based wreckers I've emailed.

Actually, Jim2, if you get it fixed, let me know - after viewing the Coffee thread, I think mine's on the blink, too...
ACC - It's where the Enron accountants all went.
I work off fast customer service and if they choose not to email me quickly when I need them too then they can't have my buisness. I believe there are good and bad points in buisness and Im not going to call them bad buisness men. Just they have some bad practices that could be worked on to be better liked.
I was willing to spend a bit of money with them but now Im not. All because of them not taking 5 minutes to send me an email. So I guess you can see where Im coming from.

Hmm quite a few mixed responses. Seems some people get good service there and some dont. I agree with sniper though, and if I get a bad response from somewhere I just wont go back again. Reckon a little negative feed back would be good for him, then other people might not have the same experience I did. Cheers for the tips on other wreckers guys!
Sargent Major: "Now then, who called the cook a bastard?"
Small voice from the rear: "Who called that bastard a cook?"
I second that; I sent an email to EconoHonda and they replied on the weekend, which was unexpected.Originally Posted by nudemetalz
Having said that, I called Buckets and Bits about the same part, and I found the guy on the phone to be helpful (If a little flustered) and friendly. He was a bit unknowing about my bike, but I've come to expect that when getting parts for my VTR.
I've had a mixed bag from buckets and bits.
He helped me with a part for the race bike and it was cheap, but was very rude to the point of being offensive on a different ocassion. As a result I won't go there again.
You've got to remember that wreckers are very low down the food chain when it comes to the automotive bussiness, certianly miles below mechanics and used bike dealers. Most of them are very slow, unhelpful and don't know anything about customer service.
Do your homework for the bits you need, and ring several wreckers. Sometimes you'll find that new parts are cheaper.
Ringing is usually better than emailing.

Of course not having an email address these days will probably lose you some customers. Personally I wouldn't call an out of town wrecker (which most bike wreckers are for me) unless I'm desprate for something.
I can just imagine it:
"Hello this is Mr Bike Wrecker"
"Yeah hi, just wondering, do you have a quziebolt for a zxr250?"
"Ah, yeah I might do, just give me a second and I'll check (puts phone down)"
(Ten minutes pass...)
"(picks phone up) Are you there mate? Yeah it looks like we do, not 100% sure of the condition though."
"Oh ok, well how much anyway?"
"Oh, ahh, lets see...How about three-times what you had expected it to cost?"
Email tends to cost less![]()
Ive had some bad experiences and some OK ones. I find them better to deal with over the phone. Only reason I still go is because hes so close but yea hes not too nice when your talking to him. Makes you feel like he doesn't give a shit.
You know you had a good nite when you have to ask someone if you had a good nite.
