OK, at the bottom left of a post is a "star", if you click on that star you can give the writer "reputation" - either positive or negative. It's like a secret KiwiBiker thumbs-up or thumbs-down... You can only give it to a person once at a time and to give them more you need to give reputation to others.

    Hope this helps.

I'm with SaferRides on this, those drivers in Auckland who really need to do something about their appalling driving are not immigrants and tourists, but the locals who think they're the best, especially if they're driving a 4x4 ute or SUV...

My experience, Audi and BMW drivers regardless of their ethnic origins. For these drivers, indicating and stopping at Stop signs is optional.

It is that most of the time but normally due to traffic build up.

my gripe is people on long merge lanes to the motorway not getting up to speed with the motorway traffic... merging into 100kph traffic at 60 is so safe and doesn't cause rubber-banding that lasts for hours on the motorway....

Especially those retarded cuntmonkeys who HAVE to get straight across into the far right lane from the earliest possible moment available on the on-ramp. Usually cutting across the white lines which are meant to "guide" the spastics further along so that they actually get up to speed before merging.

    Obviously, without indicating...

They'd have to put down their phone/latté/whatever to use their left hand to make an "L" to remember which is left...

+! and staying in the rightmost lane to the last minute then sweeping across to their exit... used to see a bloke in a black Euro sedan do it regularly at the westbound Rosebank exit in the morning until he did it in front of an unmarked police car one morning... might have spoilt his day

Of course, to any one south of the Bombays we are discussing something completely foreign to them...

Yup, there certainly seems to be a bit of that going on. I notice the occasional car which has stopped after an exit, and wonder if they ever reversed back to take the off ramp.
Second is the amount of asians who absolutely HAVE to drive in the right hand lane for some reason.
I have blasted them with airhorns before and all they do is slow down ffs!

I'd question the quality of some driving instruction...

If this country is really serious about reducing the number of deaths on the roads then a start needs to be made on improving the standard of driving and riding. All of us need to lift our game: some by quite a bit, others by lesser amount, but none of us can claim to be beyond needing upskilling or refresher-course scenarios.

Tell me about it. Only yesterday I had to ride up onto a roundabout to avoid some idiot who changed from the left lane to the right lane mid roundabout completely cutting me off.

    Wow, how awesome are we.

We can identify all the other people driving badly. Meanwhile we are all awesome drivers and riders.

In the last few years Ive had the chance to discuss road rules with lots of individuals and groups. Virtually exclusively people always attest to knowing the rules and applying them.

So, who are these people who have no idea how to take part in the societal dance called "the road shuffle"

They're the ones who have forgotten that you remember the answers for just the test...

I'd question a massive amount of driving instruction, including:
1: Being trained by family members who are passing on bad habits,
2: Driving schools who teach driving in the middle lane on multi-lane roads, instead of keeping left at all times,
3: Organisations who deem that advanced training is dangerous (skid training will encourage people to slide - instead of knowing how to get out of/control one), The AA, we're looking at you cunts here!
4: Training to the level of passing the test, and not fully developing skills,
5: Road craft, or lack of this.

The recent propaganda regarding the "zero" goal of road accidents seems bizarre, since it is based on the Swede's approach. This had a 50% reduction and no further, meaning the goal is unachievable.
It also fails to address the level of driver training needed to get a licence in that country, instead of our "scratch and win" system.

15mins ago I watched a fucking truck & trailer enter the motorway and immediately cross all lanes to sit in the far right lane.

Had the dubious pleasure of using the Upper Harbour Highway to get from the upper Shore to the Northwestern to get back into the central suburbs this afternoon, about 2:30ish...

Coming along past Hobsonville in left lane with cruise control set at 105km/h which means I'm doing 100km/h [speedo checked against GPS] leaving the right lane to those whose need to get there quicker was greater than mine. Approaching the junction with Highway 16 the right lane slows and brake lights are seen, so I cancel cruise and start to slow, anticipating heavy traffic ahead. As I rounded the curve where the exit for Westgate is, I see the issue... a 4x4 SUV in the right lane doing a steady 80km/h with a tail of vehicles behind. I cautiously carried on watching in case any of the right lane speeders made a sudden lane change and went past almost all of them at about 90km/h while they waited until the extra lanes appeared with the joining of Highway 16.

I am sure that Sir Ringe and his wife Lady Enema were convinced that all those idiots were attempting to drive them off the road...
