Why the keep off signs? Is it really a problem? How many people will actually sit on a bike that isn't theirs without first asking?

There's literally thousands of Triumphs, BSA's and Nortons around the world with chrome pipes blued as badly as that.

People are dicks. Doubley so if they think the bike is owned by a shop, fair game for a ArseBook selfie.

Yes, running too lean and hot. But in the days of fuel injection and computers it's very rare to see pipes like this.

Titanium colours up with heat. I've seen pipe sets advertised that have been pre-heated in areas to get the 'look'. I presume they point a blow torch or similar at them.

That Kawa will be pumping out some serious heat - the obvious part being the headers but bends and collectors will have concentrated heat on them too.

I think it's a fantastic photo - thanks for sharing.

I went looking for those pre-coloured pipes but got distracted by this 'method' of bluing them.... poor engine, note the fluid under it.

Also it's important to clean titanium down before starting the bike for the first time - any oils from your hands will burn on the metal permanently (evident in the video as well).

The larger point here is why was I not informed there was a trackday on yesterday? Who ran it and how do I get on the list?

Did he put his fingerprints all over those titanium pipes?

... I heard that leaves marks.

edit: I just read Allan's comments, so it's true.

It wasn't a track day, it was Kickstart display motorcycle day thingy

Hmm seen some pictures on FB tonight. Looks like a good turnout for the day. And I knew nothing about it either.

Apropos of titanium pipes and such, I'm just going to post a photo of a set of Pedro's pipes here. I'm in awe of the work that goes into these. I have visions of a team of Japanese sheet metal working craftsmen toiling away, but it's probably made by a machine. Still magic looking stuff.

    As you were...
