Breaking in 125cc scooter engine Question ( i'm complete noob with engines.)

Hello, just wanted to know about breaking in a new scooter 125cc. On the Break in section of the manual i read that for the first 150km i should avoid prolonged use of more then 1/3 of the throttle, then on the next page i read that from 150-500km i should avoid prolonged 1/2 throttle and to not at any time use Full Throttle, which is fine but i only realised today that it said to NOT use full throttle AT ANY TIME and since i have been riding the scooter there are a about 4 times i have gone full throttle for about 3-2 seconds max to get up to speed just to test it, i am currently at about 110km done on the bike. So my question is have i stuffed the bike up or is it fine in terms of getting the proper break in and nothing being damaged.

    Thank you every one.

Here is the manual by the way.

    Thanks.

this ! don't worry, just don't go on massive wide open throttle trips for hours across the country just yet --- city riding with start stop is fine, just make sure the bike oil/engine is warmed up (idled from cold for a few mins) before setting off in the mornings --- it's also good to stop the bike and let her sit to cool down for a few hours after getting it hot/putting it under some stress then repeating

there are a million different opinions on the matter, the manual is the best bet as they designed and manufactured the engine, main thing they really say is don't put the engine under full load for any amount of time during the first 500~km

As the others have said this is a subject where if you ask 5 different people you'll get 10 different answers. The main thing is to give it a little time to warm up when setting off from cold. Try and let it cool down after riding for the first few 500 Kms or so by taking a break every 30-45 minutes if at all possible.

Also make sure that you vary the load by not sitting at one constant speed for any length of time.

The limitations the manual stipulates aren't always practical, especially with a 125cc scooter which sometimes needs plenty of throttle in order to keep up with the surrounding traffic. Just avoid extremes of throttle, temperature and speed until around the 500Km mark and you won't go far wrong.

    Above all enjoy it!

Absolutely, there are a billion opinions about this.

I personally fall into the camp of "just do what the sodding book says", going off the logic that a bunch of engineers, employed by one of the world's major manufacturers are probably a bit smarter than ol' mate on the internet who reckons full tilt from the factory breaks them in quickly. They're smarter than me, they know the engine better than me, I'll do as they say

At the same time, "go get a beer and stop worrying, it's all good" is pretty 'on the money'. If you use open throttle for a couple of seconds here or there, you're not going to break anything Just apply some mechanical sympathy, let it get up to temperature, and be gentle for the first few hundred kms (or whatever the book says, I'll be honest, I didn't read it). Don't start it up in your driveway and then hard GP launch it while it's cold and redline it all the way up the street haha!

That one of those 3 wheeled things, saw one today.

The main thing is not be a pussy. I mean like, FukinNail it! Put it on a stand and just hold it wide. And leave it there.
    That should break it.

Sorry was that not what we were doing
