    New Tuono Factory???

    Hi All, anyone here own the new 18 Tuono Factory, done a bit of Youtube on them, not sure how their reliability has improved, I know in the past the factory valve settings have been hit and miss, I owned a 2012 in the past, now have the MT10 SP, but love the looks of the Tuono.

    Have a look on the AF1 aprilia forum. Lots of info there.
    RSV Mille: No madam, its an Aprilia, not a Harley. If it were a Harley, I would be pushing it !

    The 19 has just been announced with electric suspension. Colour is a lot more normal so the 18s may be a great price. And the 1100s have a good amount more zoom than the 1ks.

    Still looks like you are paying a lot of money for a rolling Aprilia advert. And FFS with a half side fairing and front nose that size they are not a naked bike

    I didnt buy the Factory due to the colour, but I have seen photos of them with gold wheels and they look great.

    I dont care if its a naked or not. Its just bike. A very fun one.

    The Tuono will be for the wife, she likes the stickers😊 I'm happy with my SP.

    Yes they are high performance motors and you have to do valve checks. Who would have thought you have to look after things.

    Yes, I know all about maintenance, but Aprilia seems to be more inconsistent in their factory QC than others, don't get me wrong, I love the V4, I previously owned one, and an RSV Mille V2, so I have first hand knowledge of them. An 18 model is on top of too buy list, but I will be making sure the valve's are within tolerance at the 600 km service.

    Not new to the world of Aprilia, loved my 12, but she was a temperamental bitch, no issues with the RSV though.

    Only had 2 x RSVR my2001, one for 14 hours the other for 10 years. Loved it to bits, no issues other than of my making.

    Am currently tossing up between a Touno rsv4 factory and a KTM Super Duke 1290R.

    The Tuono looks fab and has great electronics package and intuitive controls for engine mode and traction control on the move without going through a menu system.
    Downside (for me) is the chassis seat and pegs are identical to the RSV4 race bike so my short fat legs are folded tight when sat on it. I was quoted $12-1400 for the valve check k at 20k service. Also cant get a demo ride, apparently most people just buy them unseen cos they are the best.

    Rode the KTM, comfortable, light on the steering, vibrates badly under 4 k, but ride it hard and its a grin machine. I was surprised going down the Rimutaka hill that closing the throttle doesn't give the "expected" v-twin engine braking. I'm told that most electronics smooth that out now, including the Tuono.

    Both bikes have their forum horror stories for build quality and warranty issues.

    Just my 2cents
