    THAT moment

I decided a while ago that since my daughter loves watching daddy ride away on his motorcycle, and always wants to sit on it, that she should get her own as soon as possible.
Today was that day. We suggested to the in-laws maybe they'd want to chip in for a motorcycle for our three year old (we dont want her to get spoilt with heaps of other shit for her birthday and xmas if she's getting a big present like a motorbike) and there were, ah, 'mixed' responses.

Found a nice wee LT50 through a friend and brought it home today. got the little one a new helmet, and after her midday nap thought it was about time to see how she goes.

Hopped on it with her, and despite initially getting a fright when it fired up, she was very excited to hop on board and be shown how it all worked.
Took about ten minutes before she said 'I want to try it on my own'

So off she went, dad walking along beside her as she played with the throttle, pressing it in a little and giggling, then repeating. the 'look at me mummy and daddy' and the 'let's go again' over and over again was awesome.

Its quite a special thing when your children decide that they want to share in one of your passions. I'm lucky to have such an awesome little girl, and today was another proud dad moment.

That's one more on their way to joining the bike life.

Now I need her to learn to ride a bicycle and work towards two wheels in the future

Don't get her one with training wheels ... and ten minutes on a flat bit of lawn or green area ... and she'll have it sussed. The down-side will be ... that the DEMAND for a motorized two-wheeler will come sooner ...

Good stuff. Kids are not as fragile and helpless as people like to think they are.

I will bear that in mind when I stick a wee man on a trials bike in the near future. What could possibly go wrong, he should be able to get his tippy toes down?
