A big oop's for a Milton fuel station.

I've known some motorcyclists that have put the wrong fuel in the tank. But ... this might have been a tad annoying if you were caught up in the error ...

Anybody on here get caught out ... ??

Oh, so draining the diesel, filling it with petrol & firing it back up again with no further issues won't work anymore, like I've done dozens of times for clients when I owned the garage?
Some people just want to make a big thing out of it when they are in a position of being able to blame others.

The tanker driver would have got his ass kicked ... it his fault and his employers responsibility to fix it for those affected ...

The Triumph owner rode the whole way back to Dunedin, despite the engine running like shit and making white smoke. Not the smartest thing to do.

I'm quite impressed it made it that far - 50 odd kms. My Ducati would have been running like absolute shit.

supposedly much more serious the other way around common rail diesels or even previous generation dieels can have dire consequences for the actual injector pumps can be thousands to replace

Fuel station filled my Diesel Work ute up with Petrol i got about 2 kms and it started knocking said to the person with me check the recept, Sure enough 91.
I called the service station they replayed the surveillance tape, seen i said Diesel and rung up their guy who towed me back drained all the fuel and changed the filters, dude said the filters have to be changed if petrol in Diesel.
He does it heaps for all the servos and had the filters in stock, No idea why filter would have to be changed? residue petrol picks up all grime in lines like a solvent?
Got a free tank of Gas plus reinbursed for pertol I felt a bit guilty about the free tank. as i had only topped of tank 20l or so.
I remember reading about Some young Kiwi guy in Aucks years started a service where they did the job and then he filtered out the petrol from Diesel and sold that got a patent for the separation and sold it franchised world wide.
    Never heard anymore of him.

A friend had a reasonably quick Z1Rtc. One day for no apparent reason it detonated badly and damaged pistons. A long while later he heard that a load of low octane had been put in the high octane tank at the servo in Blenheim where he filled up. One of the reasons I like to use 100 octane in a race bike, simply for consistency, especially if buying in sealed 20L drums.

    Nah, JetA1 ain't like AvGas

Bit harder for a tanker yanker to stuff that delivery up though, grade selective couplings see to that

we bought all our 100 octane for motocross at Ardmore airport . airplane fuel is the purest race gas is the older stuff they wont trust in the plane.
but you have to sign declaration that it is for off road use.
