Every great cause begins as a movement, becomes a business, and eventually degenerates into a racket - Eric Hoffer
looks like a handful / suspension is so soft it can barely do a cornerclassic jap (EDIT: jap inspired suspension, soft and wollowy for the target buyer, the 65+ never to ride off-road "ADV stickers" rider)
LOL derp thought it was the 700cc tenere.... regardless, this one is chinese made (or will be when manufacturing starts in bulk) which is probably a lot better than india tbh, the welds on the latest from bajaj and even the yamaha factory there on the new yamaha yzf-r15v3 are atrocious, like they got the blind kids off the street to do the frame builds
none, as it's pointless, i'd rather a nice sport/tourer and my little xtz125 to go to single tracks then, do them and then home again--- there is no point in the big adventure bikes when you can't go where cheap farm bikes can go (unless you're Chris Birchand sponsored by KTM to prove if you're fit and pro even their big bikes can go "offroad") only semi-adv bike i'd buy is probably a DL650/1000 as 99% would be on tarmac and that other 1% gravel roads................................... all they're good for.
anyway, buy what you want, slap some adv stickers on it, if it makes you happy and you enjoy it thats all the matters. ^_^
I guess so, but for me an adventure bike is something capable of warp speeds on road, but also able to tackle light off road and tricky stuff without a complete refit of tyres or suspension.
The 790 adv at less than 200kg with 109 hp seems like the perfect bike for nz, capable of anything that the rider is up for.
I don't know how fun a 125 would be on anything but the gnarliest trail, and that's not adv riding, it's trail riding and there is a whole seperate market segment for that...
Ktm690. Lighter and better off road than the 790.

Anyone after a well loved 990ADV?![]()
the new 690 sounds like a good'n for offroad orientation with less vibes on road now
Amazing what a front fender can do for the look of a bike.
There's also more suspension travel and chunkier tyres on the r
