Are doyley's (sp) permissable to be used at previously said tea party or are they considered a dash too much panache?
Personally, I dislike them. Mrs Ixion disagrees, she thinks they are nice. But only the dainty little lace ones.

I suspect this is a male/female difference thing.

indeed. of course, with Dilmah, the Capt Picard types are reduced to adding their own bergamot oil, but stuff 'em, that's _there_ problem.

No, I call it as waste of time and energy. Darts and Nine Mans Morris are the only decent proletarian pastimes.

Oh lord a philistine in our midst, mascarading as one whose breeding would preclude them from engaging in such banter as this...

Yep, and Choysa is English Breakfast. As are most of the "traditional" New Zealand teas.

EDIT: "English Breakfast" is a type of tea, not a brand. it is the "classic" small leaved, black tea that most older New Zealanders grew up with.

There'll be no damned doilies or ice poof water at my damned tea party.

Leaf tea, brewed strong the way it was supposed to drunk.

Iced tea? Doyleys (however the fuck it's spelt)?? What is this world coming to?

And keep Sarge away from the damned bikkies, cakes and pies for his own good. and ours.
