You mentioned something that needs burning more than the fuel...

After slapping this place together and shifting in I haven't done much over winter.Colds, flu, flu, colds, coming home in the dark, rain every sunday,I've been an inside boy all winter. So today we hit the yard hard, lots of tidying up....so um,the place looks a bigger mess....got some sand and layed some paving blocks in half the carport,so now we can park one car there, looks like I will do the other half Labour weekend.Had a coffee for breakfast, worked hard all day with just a couple of fruit juices and a smoothy at six.

Across the road in the park bikes were playing all day (no motorcycles allowd),some mini bikes, like PW50s and JR50s,LT50 quads,a bigger quad, some kid on an RM125,a couple of 4 strokes, heard lot's of Harley's around.I was a bit annoyed because I had planned to bring the PeeWee home this weekend, but it started to flood, then I had to leave the Pajero at work and bring home The Laurel, which has no towbar.Next weekend I'll have my rotary hoe home and make a garden....and the boys will be in the park racing with the rest of the neighbourhood kids.....

    my day

    got up at 630
fed both kids, got hi-5 going on the tivo for sampson.
held the fort (browsing KB of course) so the duchess could sleep in till 10.30.
took family over to west ak so our kids could frolic in paddling pool etc with friends kids while duchess got shit-faced (she has a rough week with 2 kids at home).
    left there 6.30ish
went home and friend came over to watch a couple episodes of "over there" - new HBO show about iraq, was OK - little shmaltzy..
in bed by 10pm - was buggered.
jesus - my life has changed somewhat in the last couple of years.

worth it though, my kids kick ass.
I am Jack's complete lack of remorse .

Well, I had a great day yesterday. Got up around 8:30ish for a leisurely breakfast and then load the bike on the trailer (had the car already packed), stocked up the chilly bin and was one the road by 9:30. Swung by my mates place in Grey Lynn, one of the bikes wouldn't start (the only four stroke in the group, and an XR of all things - when do they ever not start? ffs . . .) so he went off for a surf instead. Stopped off for gas and bakery in Kumeu, got up to woodhill around 11, 11:30 ish. Paid our dues (very friendly lady ranger there, vast improvement over the grumpy SOB we had last time) and were out on the trails shortly after. Got in four good long runs, with no major mishaps. We were running out of fuel by around 4ish, so loaded up the bikes and managed to make it home around 5. Plenty of daylight left to give the bike a proper wash down before putting it to bed, gotta love daylight savings. Came indoors for a hot shower and there was a leg of lamb complete with roast vege's, yorkshire pudding and oodles of pan gravy ready and waiting for me (leftovers for lunch today - mmm).

Watched top gear after dinner, and then off to bed for an early night . . .

Rolled around in bed with the missus for a while. Got out of bed and wandered across the road to Rocket and grabbed a coffee both of us. Picked up a friend and the 3 of us went over to Te Aroha. Met another friend there for brunch (Big Brekkie yum yum). The 3 of them went with the inlaws to a Baroque concert while I babysat the Sky remote. Watched the A1 GP (good stuff - excellent idea that) on 3 and bikes on 1 (shit coverage unfortunately, think I'll stick to downloading the full races). Friends from England turned up so made them a cuppa and they chatted with the others when they got back from the concert. I was completely unsociable until the motorsports on tv was over, then I joined everyone else. Had dinner, got back to our place far too late. Got to bed even later after finding out the DVD I was making a backup of **ahem** had locked up my machine while we were out.

Worked all day, went home then me and the wife of to my mothers for dinner. Came home to find a mate waiting outside, had a 'herbal' together, talked shit about bikes and then played some half-life vs, then watched MotoGP. Just a quiet night really.

I was so tired after my early start on Saturday and riding all weekend, that I was watching TopGear impatiently waiting for it to finish. Then I got up to go to bed, and dropped my wineglass on the kitchen floor (my hand must've already nodded off).
So I spent the next 10 minutes cleaning that up, then five minutes picking the bits of glass I missed out of my feet (and hand, after I transferred some from my foot to my hand!)
I would've had a lovely night's sleep though, if some tired, befuddled moron hadn't advanced the alarm clock by an hour when setting it. It was great waking up at 4:45 AM ...
    ... and that's what I think.

    Or summat.

    Or maybe not...

    Dunno really....

rolled out of bed at 9 on sunday...on the road by 10ish...headed for palmerston nth. kept my speed about 100k...slightly more on the down hills. wandered around palmie for a bit...then headed back to sanson.
got a txt from the guy i was waiting on, so hauled ass back to his place up near turakina. bike started acting up sanson side of the bulls bridge...pulled the choke for a bit then pushed it back in. that helped.
stopped at the bp....the chick who did my gas was talkin away like id come from some unknown place where all the bikers come from
stayed at my guys place for the night. both of us up at 5am...him to go to welly and me to go back to palmy, but wound up leading him to levin instead [130k at times, lol. foggy roads and no traffic]
stopped at the mcds for breakfast and to un-numb my hands and legs so i could at least feel the clutch to shift [slowing down was fun!] walked into mcds....a guy in a nice shirt and tie and a scruffy girl in leather and denims. then a hug and kiss in the parking lot and we part ways.
bike now sounds like a mini helicopter, so need to get her looked at and home again by 9.15 this morning....nearly 24 hours since id left. all in all a great day!!!!
