But but but ....... he wasn't breaking the law with his dress code was he? Each to their own I say and that includes all you people who like to break the speed limit too. Good on ya's. Now don't get me wrong I personally like to wear all my gear all the time (well not in bed of course) but thats my choice and this bloke and blokess should be allowed their choice also.

Over here, traffic law doesn't isn't followed all that often and the police are pretty lax. The general rule of thumb semms to be 'No harm, no foul'.
In particular the delivery guys who ride those poxy step-thru scooters are always blasting through red lights, ped' crossings; no helmet, no gloves, no jacket, even no shoes!

I meet guys in the street all the time who have a chronic limp - usually from a bike accident.

They have a saying over here: "Motorcycles make good widows".
I don't think that has to be the case, but if you ride like a plonker without gear, you will get hurt eventually...
    Keep it rubber-side down...

on occasion i like to ride in jeans and a t shirt with no gloves....just to enjoy the caress of the wind on my skin. heck, while i was in canada sometimes i didnt even wear that! [jeans and a bra at private parties] i trust my riding ability, and have no choice but the trust that of those around me. if i come off, so be it. it aint gonna be pretty, but its no ones problem but my own.

id prefer to have a choice to wear a pudding bowl helmet too.

the really happy person is one who can enjoy the scenery when on a detour.

What makes him the bike racer type?

Nearly as bad as all young males in cars being boy racers. Number of times I was called a boy racer when i was driving. Kinda stupid really considering I had a hyundai excel. Real race machine that, 0-100km/h in about 3......weeks.
Funny now I have a van it doesn't happen anymore, though it probably should, nothing like a bit of drifting in the old L300.
I think the phrase rhymes with "Clucking Bell" - Blackadder

If it didn't cost the tax payer anything when this knob fell off then I would have no problem letting darwin work his magic.

Arrow Some people need to learn the hard way.

We all know that what you wear is just as important as what you ride. Maybe after some road rash they'll feel the same also?
Those who insist on perfect safety, don't have the balls to live in the real world.
