Thanks Ixion for doing the cut and paste thingy I couldn't be bothered doing and for stating in better words than me my point- the Act contradicts itself and APPEARS to say (pinch your word here)-" if you have only one offence it expires after 2 years. Simple. But If you have several, S91 APPEARS to say that you have to wait 2 years from the date of the MOST RECENT ONE. But that contradicts S90.

S90 still implies you could get 10 points every 23 months 3 odd weeks and accumulate 'active' points for 10 years and then be disqualified effectively for a minor ticket over 10 years old! Shit call that fair.
I asked the helpful lass on the 0800-822 422 No. clearly about what I had heard (Marty) about the points lasting for years if you keep getting more before 2 years passes existing one will be held against you for longer and she said 'no, no it's only what you got over the last 2 years.
But don't risk your licence on what I've said, i still don't trust them.

i'm only going on experience, maybe write a letter to the PIB, asking nicely for their interpretation. the person who signs the demerit warning letter would be a good start. then, you'll have it in writing.

I don't want to bring it to their attention if you know what I mean. If they can't make sense of the misleading Act you can bet they wont interpret it in our favour. I'm keeping my personally autographed warning letter as backup.
