    $8500 seems a lot for that age bike, it hasn't been ridden much so unless it has been properly stored there could be degredation from storage.

    2003, not 93 sorry

    It was a 2003 bike, sorry. Barely run-in. I wanted to know what they cost new so I could use that information as a negotiating point. Probably cheaper than a V-Strom, then.

    Figured it had to be an '03 as they didn't make them in 93,
    Freewinds sold for 10 grand new, when an F650 was 13.
    Bearing in mind that the Freewind has an air-cooled motor and is quite cheaply built finished, then considering that a new KLE500 is $9000, or $9600 for a KLR650, I would say $8500 is too much. Sad for the owner, but $7k is more like it.

    I bought mine new in 98 for $9K. Considering my experience with it and its competition today I would still pay $9k for a used one in mint condition - but I've got one and no its not for sale.

    The fact is,they are sort after and the market will determine the price.And it is $8000 to $9000
