So I guess it would be a bad thing to invade the magazines forums and make fun of the cage drivers .....

War & Peace would be shorter but here goes. had Blade for over a year so felt like a change. Rode 636 demo bike, fell for it's lightness and fun factor-quick steering, even better braking than Blade and wheelies heaps easier.
Wanted a green one, none due for 5 weeks and the Shop were not interested to trade down Blade so I stuck it on Trademe and got some quick nibbles. All was looking promising then a green 636 arrives a week later. Not wanting to miss out I took it thinking no prob the Blade willl go in a matter of weeks. Well it didn't after 4 months so I put the 636 up for sale and Murphy's luck it sold. Mr Murphy is enjoying it right now.
Told the shop I was not happy with outcome and blow me away they really came to the party giving me what I wanted for the Blade and threw in all sorts of goodies to cheer me up and sent me on my happy way on a new red 636. Red is faster ya know and looks even better to me than the green. Finished running it in - fourth bike in 2 years, last night. Its so much fun and wheelies like a dream. Doubt I will risk thrashing it this weekend at the track. Not that that's stopped me before but might be in Tauranga. Will give the November sprints a go for sure.
Now back to the car thrashing topic
Oh yeah time for picture in red

MotoGP has less restrictions than F1,and they are STILL slower than the car.Rossi rides a bike you can only dream of - but Rossi still dreams of driving a car...F1 or WRC is where he wants to go.Bikes are slow.

out of the box bikes are faster than car and alwase will be on the road, bikes can pass traffic where cars cant, they also have the accelleration on the straights that cars cant even begin to dream of, but a bike on the circut will never beat a F1 car. But at the end of the day its not how long it takes but how you get there that counts...

F1 may have more restrictions to hold them all to a more specific design...but point is, the concept of a car with 4 wheels on the ground has more potential to put down power, shift weight and generate more speed...but at a price, in $$$.

Repeating myself...cars at the top-level will always be quicker than bikes...but that's not the point here.

Budgets are 1/20th of that in F1 for the best teams in moto.
Basically i consider them about even - cos if you compare top fuel drag cars to bikes then the time are similar.
Lets see a bucket race demo-derby car - that would be close too i think.

A lot of fucking gutless excuses - but still the FACT is....a bike will never be as fast as a car, just imagine how fast a F1 car would be if they could build it as fast as they liked,MotoGP can practicaly do that now.

Why don't you just enjoy the thrill of your bikes instead of getting into some stupid ego trip about how your bike is so much faster than X car?

Ahh you do make it sound appealing...

As has been pointed out before though, the ceramic brake option on the Porshe in the Oz test cost more that the entire GSXR.

Big difference between $20,000 and $250,000 or whatever.

One of the appeals of bikes for me is that most people can buy something that they may consider to be "the best bike in the world" whatever that is for them personally.

Very few people can aspire to own any car that might be rated the best in the world.

Mechanical grip is not where the major advantage lies. Aerodymanics is the ultimate decider in the bike vs car performance advantage.

And bang for ya buck??? the performance ya get from a cheap bike compared to a car hahahaha no comparison...How much would you have to spend on a car to out perform a $22,000 sports bike?

Right! Application! I'll also take on any 4x4 on a trials bike...but I won't take it on in chest high mud.

And for you guys spouting off about money as an excuse - it just goes to show that car racing,of any kind,is the premier level of motorsport.

I love bikes for the performance aspect too - my ''girls bike'' DT230 is a blast and I know it will stick with a Skyline turbo to 140kph,when he chickened out,not bad for a little girls bike.I'll take on any comers in a car on gravel, you won't see me for dust - but if Colin McCray turns up in a WRC car,it doesn't matter what I ride,or how much money I put into it - games over.
