Its taken 15 odd years for Suzuki to finally win the WSBK title, and suddenly they are best thing since sliced bread. Hows that MotoGP bike coming along?
GSXR's OK for mucking around on, but if you want to win anything (that counts).......

Just once in a while I see a bike that stops me in my tracks and maybe makes me swear out loud. (It doesn't take much to make me swear but once underway I take a bit of stopping...)

Last time this happened it was at AMPS and it turned out to be a "Night Rod". Sadly, when I checked it out, it wasn't the duck's nuts where lean angles are concerned. But hey I 'm getting older and there are less corners than there used to be....

    Maybe one day?

Pretty good bikes them Gixxer things...... Same they can't touch the other marques in the all important looks department, IMHO the Kwaka's in the lead, closly followed by the R1, then a few lengths back to the CBR with the Gixxer a distant last.

Now that sir, is a very good question! I was planning on buying a VTR1000, but thats since been sold. I also read a very good test that basically slagged the VTR thou, basically because its still really a 1997 model, even the new ones! And thy're right! Compare my 97 CBR600 to a '05 CBR600RR (OK, you might want to picture a 97 GSXR600 and a K5 600) OK? Now thats progress, but look at a 97 VTR1000 and a 05 VTR, only an owner could tell you the differences
So now I dont know what I'll end up, shock horror, maybe even a Suzuki, guy at work has a GSXR7/11 slingshot and says he can get me a minter 1990 GSXR750 Slingshot for $5K, sounds abit steep but its only done 20K apparently and is immaculate, but honestly if/when my bike sells not too sure what I'll replace it with Probably something sporty but comfortable, good two up, 750cc + up to $10K to spend, any suggestions?

heaps out there... I must say as a poor student the "older" gixxers supply a lot more bang for your buck than some other brands for bikes 600cc and up

If ya keen to stick to Honda a VFR 800 are a real nice ride have had & few goes on these bike's & liked every minute . Not the best at any real thing but great at all If ya know what I mean . Either that or a Late 90's GSXR1100R had one for 6y's Excellent 2 up bike power to burn & was pretty good round corner's as long as you were of Strong build .

I rode a GSXR1100WN (I think it was, water cooled model) and while it may have said GSXR on the fairing that bike was hardly a sports bike, big, heavy, long, slow ponderous steering, wouldnt hold a line, wouldnt change lines in any great hurray. Actually got off it twice, as was convinced the tyres were flat or badly squared off, but they were fine, or it was bent but lined up OK, and didnt wobble and felt the same on left and right bends. Kinda put me off to be honest, but yeah seen a 97 GSXR11 and a 99 GSXR11 on Trade Me recently...theres also a VFR800 ex rental with 124000km !!! on the clock but only $6500, they seem reasonably bullet proof but that might be a too higher mileage, but still I'm sure its been serviced by the book, so may be worth a look.

TLR's nah, dont quite do it for me, always thought if I got one, I'd put a ZXRR tail section on it.
Silver VFR800 its on my watchlist already
The red one? see above 124,000km, while the motor might be OK, how about the suspension, brakes, swingarm etc, gotta be worn out by now?
    The CBR900RR, hmm, maybe
The Triumph? must admit hadnt thought of a Triumph, some of the Aprilias are going damn cheap, but not too sure the mrs is going to like perched up on the back, though....(and still remember last time I bought a single seater )

Arrow I like to follow any form of motorcycling.

Especially the SBK WSB. I think that Chris Vermeulen has really thrown out the gauntlet and I am quite keen to see where he goes from here. I do hope that he sticks with the Team Kate Racing as they have prooven themselves in both the SBK and SS rounds. I really think that without Troy Corser, Suzuki would not be that great as everyone often makes out. Yea they are a good bike, but no better than a Honda at the moment
I'm not going to take the bait Sensei, but I wonder if in 12 months time, all this GSXR raving, will really be a thing of the past???

I'm talking about the racing on the telly, which has nothing to do with us mere mortals riding on the local roads what so ever. I don't need to keep up with anything nor anyone to mention racing on the world circuits, even if some people think its some sort of requirement.
Gav makes a good point, however Troy has prooven he can win on a Suzuki, pity no one else is at present...
Anyway, I see this thread as a dick waiving competition and who is better than who. I aint here to join in and if my riding style is not good enough to be taken seriously here, so be it as I don't actually care.

Nice to see people still get in2 the old brand loyalty thing, I love my R1, at the time I did nearly buy a k2thou, but the R1 suited me better, with the new models apart from looks, they are all fliping close, if i were buying I would go for the new R1 just based on looks, but it would be a toss up between that and the zx10, and the K5thou...at the end of the day they all wheelie farking well and thats all that matters aye??
