sounds to me what the younge fella really needs is a heavy duty clutch.
what you lot are talking about I was sorta doing on mella yella exiting the hairpin at taupo and pukie-getting it into the sweet rev spot then using the clutch as the throttle --slipping it or not -if ya get my drift

Interesting thread. I would advise you do a lot of reading before asking for help. To many people want to use others knowledge before they try doing research themselves. It is good you asked but you need to understand how to explain what it is you want to achieve. Try changing down to keep in the power band. If the gearing is to high drop the front to a 12 tooth and lift the rear to 47. Play with this option till you get a setup that suits your track. It takes time but that is what practise days are for. Every track is different. Good luck
