    Viewing rights for MotoGP

So if Spark is pulling the pin on sports streaming does that mean it's back to Sky again for MotoGP?? Anyone in the know or care to speculate?

i got an email about it finishing. I got it mainly to watch motogp and they also had wrc I cancelled immediately but here is the gist of the email

I dont know what is happening re motogp tho

Spark is shutting down its sports streaming service Spark Sport next year.
The company announced the service will wind up at the end of June next year, blaming escalating content rights and the need to invest in a new streaming platform for the decision.
Spark CEO Jolie Hodson said the platform has struggled to "reach the scale we aspired", citing COVID-19 disruptions as a main issue.
"That slower than expected start, coupled with the escalating costs of content rights globally, makes it difficult to justify the type of investment Spark Sport requires when we have a wider range of investment opportunities across our broader business."

Why Southee was chosen ahead of Latham as new Blackcaps test captain

She said it would be letting its customers know about the decision today.
The majority of Spark Sport's content would be transferred to TVNZ, with a deal being done to transfer its rights for Blackcaps, Whiteferns and Super Smash matches to the broadcaster from July 2023.
New Zealand Cricket CEO David White said while disappointing for Spark, it is a "very good outcome for the game of cricket in New Zealand".
"It safeguards the professional game; it safeguards the community game, and it provides unprecedented access for Kiwi cricket fans."
Spark said it's in discussions about the other sporting rights it holds - which includes Formula 1, some NBA and NFL games and the UEFA Champions league - and will make more announcements in the new year.

They lost the rights to the English Premier League football. End of game really in my opinion.

Been in touch with TVNZ and yes they will be streaming on
    TVNZ 1,2 and Duke........

I'm guessing you'll need a Smart TV ???? But if you're keen enough you can stream on computer...

I'll see, it all kicks off at Silverstone this weekend....
(for me I've been enjoying WSB to get my racing fix !!!!!).

Streaming on TVNZ+, practice one starting tonight at 7:55 apparently.

    https://www.tvnz.co.nz/sport

I watched some of the ashes tests through them as replays, unfortunately they decided to put up each day's play as a single file 8 hours or so long. Plus if I started watching and had to take a break for any length of time and come back, it wouldn't remember where I left it - I had to physically scroll through using the time gone/remaining counters to guesstimate where to stop. Pain in the arse and I'm pretty sure having to hold down the scroll button so often for so long on my bluetooth remote broke it, requiring a $45 replacement. Not so free after all.

That may have been down to my el cheapo set up.

Yes I'm grateful to TVNZ for the opportunity to watch for free, HOWEVER not so grateful when the Austrian replay cuts from the MotoGP race on around the 3rd lap to women's cricket and they don't realise until lap 7 when it cuts back to the racing...

That was how it was yesterday (checked twice), hopefully fixed by now.
