well... more recomendations for a adventure lid, Iv allways had HJC road lids, but need to look at a adventure type now.... whats good midle of the road brands?
another question... dont the peaks on adventure helmets catch the wind and pull ya head back and oen road speeds?

Do they catch the wind? Yes and no. Aerodynamics have come along decently, but turn your head sideways while on the move and you'll certainly see the difference to a road lid.
Fit as always is the most important, gotta be snug. Some can flip, plenty have internal sun visors, some support swapping the visor for goggles (if you need that).

Out of the bracket you're talking about but I bought an Airoh Commander Carbon for a trip I am doing in a few months primarily because it is fairly light, originally I was looking at the Shoei Hornet however someone I know has one and said they wouldn't buy another, at 1250gm it is also lighter than most others I looked at, does have the dumb retractable sunvisor which I'd rather delete for even less weight and carry another visor

I've got a Givi HPS X.01 Tourer. Removable chin guard, internal sun thing ect.
I really like it, fairly light, no buffeting and the peak is big enough to shade low sun. Bit noisy and I've never tested it in an off...
Can be used as a full face without peak or an open face trials helmet.
Manopausal.

I went from a peak-less LS2 modular to a Caberg Tourmax.
I like it and no issues with peak unless you really look directly 90 degrees up and then yes the wind will catch it.
A bit noisy maybe but I usually have my music in-ear buds in which makes it quite. Would buy again.

I tried the LS2 explorer on and it was, Ok . Bit expensive as you say. There is a cheaper version called the Evo MX437 from LS2. It felt more comfortable, I bought the plain matt black one for $249. Had it for a few months now, very happy.

Out of interest, what is the point of the peak on these helmets?
Can't believe it is to do with the sun which doesn't really leave any other alternatives.

Yes it does work with the sun, which is why I wear my adv helmet commuting for work when the sun is low mornings & evenings.
