    Fuel line 8mm into 6mm - how?

I've gone and bought myself a problem.

    Its two-stroke and is damaged.

There is a section of fuel line missing.

There was a small amount left around the carb inlet - It seems to have been some sort of nasty vinyl - now futterly ucked

The carb (a Walbro) has a 6mm inlet spigot.

The outlet from the fuel tap is about 8mm.

How the blazes do I join them up?

Some form of reducer would be the obvious go - but where to find one - Supercheap Auto dont show anything on their website.

Any hints, suggestions or other forms of comical response welcome.

    Thanks

    .
You buy some proper 6mm tygon line and stretch it over the 8mm

Fuck, it's only 2mm difference. Bang an 8mm line on it but use two cable ties at the 6mm end.

Or get an inline fuel filter that has an 8mm inlet and 6mm outlet?

The stuff you buy in car shops will crease internally where you cant add it, if asked to bend a small under tank type radius. I buy name brand stuff from bike shops like motion pro which are far superior.

I go to a major garden equipment place. The type professional contractors get their gear from.

They'll have Tygon in various sizes on the shelf. Very nice stuff to work with too.

Is that ok for fuel? It looks like the stuff we use for the garden irrigation. I have used Tygon which i get from the kart shop on the way to work

The Mitre 10 page reckons it is, think it's nylon which in theory should be ok for petrol?

There's a bunch of different sizes of straight and tees, and if you're looking for them they hide in the drawers of misc parts in the nuts and bolts aisle, where they're nice and easy to find and arranged in a completely logical order

I'm in two minds about this sort of thing, every connection is a potential point of failure or leakage, but equally things that are stretched or squashed to fit will usually fail eventually.

Fuel filters are notorious for causing kinks as they add 60mm of straight into a 200mm curve, so when you put the tank down on you GS snoozuki .. . .
