Fastest ever lap of the IOM

You know when you watch onboard footage and occasionally think 'looks like he could've gone a bit faster there', well this vid is a great example of how we have no fucking clue lol. Mind you that might just be me.

Can't see a lot of margin being left. Frankly, with the amount of overhanging foliage it's hard to pick up where the road goes at some points.

The top guys must have an incredible visual memory.

I would also have liked a commentary - landmark ID, where on the circuit he is etc.

Yeah watched that and he's fair going for it
But right at the start he let the revs drop right down on a couple of corners. Pretty sure I'd have picked up a couple of seconds on him there.

I don't think he started pushing until he got a pit board showing MD had closed the gap.

Certainly not much margin left when exiting the Creg. Joey was right when he once said that there's a green blur and a grey blur. This year, almost everyone stayed on the grey blur. Raul Martinez's funeral was held on the island yesterday.

Hicky short-shifted after Ballagh Bridge and again in Parliament Square. I reckon that you'd have caught him after that...

The commentators were saying on live feed that a 137 or even 138 was on the cards due to some conditions not being ideal or something at time of new record…
It’s phenomenal to have an increase at that level of performance given a few years ago even a 130 was incredible.
Only those that routinely travels long distances appreciate what it takes to get a decent improvement in any average speed time…. especially at such high speeds.

It's also worth remembering that this year is the first time that full slicks were allowed in all classes. It probably benefited Superstock most of all.
