    1340ccs of FXR-beating AMERICAN MUSCLE!

    Yeah baby!

Raced an HD (with go-fast flames on the gas tank, too) from the top of the Northwestern to the Takapuna offramp this morning. Not sure of the model, but may have been an FXDsomethingorother.

My filtering-fu was much more powerful than his, but flat out on the straights he was pulling away at an extra 5kph or so. I don't think either of us topped 145 (heh, well, *I* certainly didn't). He ended up in front as I left the motorway at Takkers due to my gentlemanly sitting-up-his-arse through the traffic instead of rudely and aggressively overtaking to make the most of superior FF.

The funny part was his obvious over-the-shoulder agitation as I hove into view... I didn't even have to make any 'crank it' gestures to get him hooning away between the lanes in front of me.

So, if you're out there anywhere mate, well done. You probably didn't even need that extra 1190 cc.

    Heh. Cubically challenged riders represent!

I've cleaned up plenty of faster, more powerful, newer and better handling bikes on all sorts crap - doesn't make my bikes better or mean I'm an outstanding rider, just means I got past them - they were probably laughing their heads off at what a wanker I am.

Hell, well, my bike is terrible and my riding sucks, so I'm pretty sure I can't claim any credit for anything.

'twas just a funny little thing that happened on the way to work this morning...

Better take the bars and pegs off, jrandom. Then it'll slide in easier.

Heh. He wasn't patched up or nuffin'. If he had-a been I wouldn't have played. He just looked like a scruffy long-haired westie boy type.

(Unless he was wearing one of those Accountant's Special Harley Helmets with long hair attached to the back to get the genuine streaming-in-the-wind effect without mussing one's short back and sides 'do.)

I need to find that zen place you seem to ride in, BD.

Every time I hop on the bike, an evil siren seems to materialise just over the horizon, screaming at me to catch her before she vanishes.

I do my best, 150cc and all...

Used to do that to me too - then I broke four vertebrae.

That'll help you on your Zen quest.

Don't tell my wife that, she'd help me on my quest with a sledgehammer

I used to be one of those got to get there first riders, three kids changes your outlook on life pretty quick and an accident or two can make for some pretty good brakes. I just enjoy riding, I feel like I got more out of a the coromandel rideout just because I got more saddle time and enjoyed scenery others could not remember.

I would rather be 10 mins late than DEAD on time. (this does not mean I don't have moods where few could catch me from time to time)
