Perfect day (better than perfect day), got the KLR out for the first time in years (regos been on hold for 3 years) and over the hill. Rear tube shredded itself on te wharau road just past westmere road intersection. Fortunately cell phone coverage but long wait for son to come over from UH with the trailer. First time in the bikes life that its gone home on a trailer.
it's not a bad thing till you throw a KLR into the mix.

Doing some stress training on bicycle. Just a hill road to get me puffing, then down and repeat
    Started yesterday.
Decided better do it again. Walked out to flat front tyre. Saved.

Went in to cook bacon egg sarnies for fandamily. Result.

What a day for a ride
Beeline an old route but it went odd and misbehaved
Oh well. Road some south wairarapa roads I never had and did some gravel.

Almost slowed it into the ground getting 2nd photo. Gravel towards beach became considerably closer to sand than gravel suddenly. hope no one was watching
    What a day.

Cafe in Piranoa. slow cooking beef short ribs for a couple of hours and bbq.

Got out yesterday at 0900 .

New seal north of Shannon at 30kph for about a kilometer.
Same on Pahiatua track ,several patches of new seal at 30 kph.

The rest of the run was brilliant ,fine and sunny.

You'd never go hungry with Nigella Gaz.
If it weren't for flashbacks...I'd have no memory at all..

Had to go to masterton today to help Brother nd sister in law to move. Ferrying stuff from house to garage to enable the trucjk to be packed. Didnt enjoy trying to get out of Jville at 8 30am. Once on SH2 pretty plain sailing had quite a good run up the hill but some traffic on the downhill side. Was forecast for rain on and off but got there with no rain .Bit of rain at lunch time but all clear on the way home albeit some threatening skys. Decided to come down Longbush Road. The Hills were bathed in sunshine but I was in overcast. Good ride down there .Quite a good run up the hill again but again there was traffic. Two car s let me by but one didnt. He was going alright tho

Little stolen rides are great, or at ,east ones sort of off the cuff. Didn't think I'd get one Sunday as girls weekend, but hope for dropping kids off somewhere. . .

Yeah, the track is ok to just ride over but too rutted and patched to put any real pace on.

I get to play on the rest of the roads over there ,just not the hill itself.

I'm definitely a big fan of the new road. The reason being that I went over the saddle road a couple of weeks ago, and didn't see another vehicle. It's the best ride across there I've ever had.

It was my last ride on my Street Triple before I traded it in. It was a good way of giving it a decent send off.

Headin for tha hi waaay. And wot Eva commes ma waayy.(see picture, scooter not shown).

Geez hope wifey gets back from the ' rapa and the gurlz don't decide to abscond and form a dykish cult. I mean, the sex would be better, but surely she'd want something nailing up or fixing and they'd come home.

Or worse. They could do some (more) shopping

    Hoping for an afternoon ride.

Well she posted location on WhatsApp so as she got back the bike was out and leathers on!
I'm not actually a big fan of the tukas, ok but.

But today my brain was working much better and I had the best ride for 2 3/4 years. I hope this improvement continues.

Quick pie for sentimental reasons. Then over the bridge turn inland and backroad to Martinborough.

But got a text to pop in to Kaitoki and see the first TST100 twin shakedown. Seriously cool.

    Great afternoon.

Sawmill Hazy and slow cook spare ribs about to go on bbq for final smoke up.

Summer is not over till i say it is.

Agree it was a cracker day. Went over for a ride thinking about going up and over to Palmy, then got sidetracked to Gladstone pub for coffee, then on to the Cliffhanger hillclimb for a look.
