Stella day again for mid winter ride.

Now, there had been a bit of rainfall at some point so the roads were wet at 10.30. And somefucjer left a trail of gold/blue hazy over the tukas . Think it was expensive enough not to wound you mpg for no reason.

Got a pie then swung back (dry by now) via Kiatoke to see Kyle and Glen running his bike for the first time on FI at the track practice (Grumphs Sensible twin).

And yet another yesterday. Sadly blighted by a silly idea to have a bicycle ride first. I've had a thumb injury and haven't ridden for a few months. Thought I'd check out the forgotten roads at the top of hill road.
Clue is in the name and I've lost residual fitness. After not very long "I don't really enjoy this ".

Well the roads were drying as I went over the hill for a quick ride on the 765. Nice pie and back in time to go see the a screening of Dark Side of the Moon at Space Place Planetarium in Kelburn. Do it while it's still on.

Short day but worthwhile ride in middle of winter sun.

Jumped on the 185 (ER) and scooted across to Tauranga socialising, just as well a 21" front wheel for some developing potholes...
left Taraunga as the shadows were getting longer and had the little engine pinned all the way home (14 km/litre the thirsty thing). got home, lit the fire and put the rego on hold till october

Actually I'm planning a trip up that way in September when it's a bit warmer tracing some gravel roads on the adventure talking about 21" wheels. I'll see if you're about a little closer.

OK so early days on T33. I'd scrubbed the rear but there's 2.5mm left on S22 front so it stays for a little bit longer.

I'd jacked the rear end up a touch with a 5mm spacer with is what they did on the next year's model 765. Felt great on worn S22, but I immediately put a pack on and went on a long ride and wore it out. On with T33 and no luggage.

Now my thumb is finally OK to ride the 765 I must admit that the bike kinda wasn't confidence inspiring. Felt a bit like it was wandering. I actually checked the alignment with a straight edge. It was fine.

I'd been lazy with pressure as it's cold and I figured I knew they were low on both ends, but it's cold I'll just leave them. Sore thumb didn't inspire maintenance of tyre care.
Then I got to thinking about what I had read about the carcass being softer.

When I checked they were 31/35. Opps. 35/40 put in.
Immediately the wandering feeling stopped and back to nice.

Some roads are a bit wet but I'm enjoying it much more.

Dave, what year is your 765? I have a '21 RS and the rear spring feels pretty stiff (AFAIK standard Ohlins 55kg spring), I weigh around 70kg. The owners manual warns, in several places, about adjusting the rear preload but I've backed it off a bit anyway, there's about 4 threads showing above the locking ring - that about what your is set to? I've done the fork and shock adjusters to the "comfort" settings listed in the manual - still seems to ride a bit hard though. Tyre pressures are as per the decal on the swingarm.
