Stunning day in Auckland so a few of us did a short loop up to Mangawhai Heads. Great views from the lookout on SH16 just before Wellsford.

Cheers SaferRides, My Road 6's aren't wearing at all ! Haven't been on the beast since Summer ended.

Besides being too bloody cold ,I'm now told my right hip is fucked ! Right knee is new but with all the hammering and wrenching now the hip has gone ????

Hoping to get it fixed soonish for Summer ???

If it weren't for flashbacks...I'd have no memory at all..

Nice, think I went to a beach up there but I don't know the area. Would like to explore more but it is a trek so easy to focus on getting places (especially the time to get past Auckland) and not exploring places as much.

Been a beautiful week for a ride, really made me wish I had gotten my arse into gear and sorted my bike already. But its hopefully fixed now - in preperation for the weather to turn again. That lookout is always worth a stop.

Just been planning an adventure ride over roads we used to stop at.

    One needs a Trials bike.

    And a dirt bike.

    And a road bike.

    And an adventure bike.

    And others just in case

A group of us were up there in feb doing a camping tour .We were in 4wd. I dont know why but I was surprised at how hilly it was. Amazing beaches after amazing beaches plus some curvy roads and some Kauri trees and amazing beaches. Also suprised at the number of big houses for sale

It's a great place to ride if you like corners. I've done a couple of trips in the last couple of years and keep finding new roads. Just avoid SH1 as much as possible, apart from the Mangamukas!

    Another, somehow Another glorious day.

That's a long way down. Glad we were on the newer bridge. Although the old one was pretty cool.

Same up here, warmer than it has been so a ride in the North Waikato. One exciting moment on the Rotowaro road where they'd put grit down and set up the signs a few hundred metres past where it started. Didn't see it on the wet surface in the shade, just as well I'd slowed down!

True. Bikes are similar to golf cubs to an extent. Each has a specific purpose.

Stopped for gas and the sun had some heat to it.

Mind you 30 min before on a backroad at 2pm I slowed around a never in the sun damp corner and was surprised to see the verge grass was quite icy.
