it has been the coldest all year over the last few days, and colder than a moth in laws kiss in some parts of the rapa,

Just to be a pedant, a meter measures, like what tells you how fast you are going. It' is not a measurement of distance.
Unless you are American. But they don't use the metric system so are hardly a reliable source of information.

Actually that rule applies for most scenarios.

After I picked up the new bike in Dunedin I decided to have a peek at Danseys Pass. The "gutters" at the side of the road were all solid Ice. And the shady spots as you describe. I had hoped for a break at the Hotel but it was closed, only opens at 3pm

Well it had to come to an end at some stage. Today was not a glorious Wellington day.
    Yesterday was,.

Sadly the only riding I did saturday was picking my bike up from 20k service. Usually I would have done this in the old days but I don't have time or energy presently.

So today I headed out and the bike feels more lively and visceral. Valves were OK as were throttle bodies so likely the placebo effect of spending lots of wonga.

That said new airfilter and probably new plugs could be equally to benefit.

Why did it handle better? Probably my state of mind, who knows?

Had a good ride, no pics. OK one.

As I got to Featherston my fingers on one side hurt a bit. New heated gloves were flashing red. Hmm. Turned grips up.

2 fingers were yellow when I got home and I couldn't feel them. Freaky. Put them in my mouth then some Luke warm water till they got OK. They are damaged and the reason why I bought heated gloves in the first place.

Charging battery. More research required. App had stopped working so not sure how much I set off with but they were fully charged and unplugged till I put them on.

Anyways it was a fine ride just to be out there.

Go enjoy your life and bikes while you can.

A stunning Sunday in Auckland. I wasn't planning on a ride but just too good not to. The downside was a very cold southeast wind - after half an hour I had to stop to change to the warm chamber of my winter gloves, which I've never needed in Auckland before. (Held Twin, best winter gloves ever.)

Was on CF last month it was the tarmac snakes that concerned me the most. In the dark the debris would be scary. Fortunately my day looked like that.

My Sunday? Spent most of it in bed reading 60years of MotoGP.

Wet in Auckland, but a few of us spent 2 days in the Waitomo / north Taranaki area last week. Stunning weather, but the roads were tricky with very wet patches in the shade - no wind.

    I'll post some photos later

    Omd what a magnificent day.

I was going to stop approaching the snowy ranges for the Instagram photo. Then I realised I'm not on the gram and you fukers aren't worth it.

Did round the back of Ekatahuna via Mauriceville then almost to the tui brewery but obviously not and to left and Pa road alfredton back to Mauriceville etc.

    Fabulous.

Who owns those bikes? I thought all your bikes had knobby tyres. Pardon me I'm enjoying rum and Coke. (Longish story.)

I've always been a roadbike guy. Well since 19.
    Mine is the 765.
But race, Dirt, trials. Only had adventure for 7 months.
Past race. Still do all the others.
Aprilia is Paul's ridden it a couple of times. Requires more self control than I have. And now more skill.

Enjoying a Brain Smiles Hazy with friends on the deck huddled around the deck heater in falling sunlight .
