It might be a while before AI takes over the world. My first attempt to use ChatGPT ended in failure when it couldn't upload the file to process.

Yes, I think companies like Apple (who care about the user experience) are demonstrating it’s going to take a while yet before we can reliably give AI general agency over anything important, the excessive hype about it is another sign of that IMHO.

I still use Trademe occasionally to get rid of things I don’t need anymore, mostly works, although I have had buyers back out after bidding on some items, or not bidding at all and requesting fixed price offers after the auction has ended…both of which are annoying.

I have had good luck with trademe, sold a vehicle and bought some specific two way radio gear .I use as many search filters as i can. You always have dreamers tho. With the vehicle i put it on at 17000 which was a good price for it. One guy imeediately offers me 12000. I say the dealer will do better than that,he says I will make it cash?? ANother guy quibbld about every little scratch and detail( I had said it some scrathing from 4wding) Next day someone had hit the buy now button.

sometimes half my sales are fixed price offers, that's life. we've done thousands of trades and had less than 1/2 a dozen back out luckily.

Only if you're trying to put aside some undocumented pocket money from your own business, otherwise it is a total pain

Yeah well I don’t do reserves, so the starting bid is my minimum. If nobody bids, I might as well give it away.

It’s an auction site after all, innit.
