Yep, my admittedly "limited" knowledge of those is they were originally Japanese domestic market models and a bunch of them, especially the black ones were sold in the NZ market. I'm not sure that Aussie ever got them. My understanding is UK riders were besotted with the idea of them and have been active in the NZ market tracking them down and having them sent to the UK for years now. So my guess would be that there are not that many left around.
    Cool bike for sure.

A friend of a friend had one (black, not a Yoshi) here in Wellington. He moved to Aus and was intending to take the bike but turned out it couldn't be registered as never passed Aus compliance approval. Sat in friends garage for a long time while plans were made to convert it to a Bandit (which was Aus compliant) FoaF died fairly recently so plans came to halt. We (friend and I) then worked on getting it rideable so FoaFs son could get the bike. Airbox and carbs are as bad to get out as the video shows
it's not a bad thing till you throw a KLR into the mix.

I knew what you were referring to before clicking.

They were sold here cheap, like circa $10k. Typically suzuki cheapo parts bin special, but styled well.
UK magazine people had the idea they were something special. No more than a bandit in specification.
    Heavily exhaust restricted.
Don't you look at my accountant.
He's the only one I've got.
