The only proper tie downs I saw on a ferry were soaked in sheep shit. I was happy to use my own.

so why not stand there and demand some, people all seem to accept the shit service as ok and cower over and bring their own. How did the 18 people two weeks ago enjoy over 1 hour waiting in the pissing down rain for the interislander when there was shelter for jusy 4? shame the ferry people couldn't let them park under the old loading ramp for rain protection, those cunts need some water torture themselves

I would expect no-one on the loading deck would have any authority to arrange for proper tie downs, and even if there was, where would they get them. I'd also imagine that any sort of "demands" would see you and your vehicle removed from the boat if it seemed likely that it would delay the sailing
it's not a bad thing till you throw a KLR into the mix.
those cheap ass bitches can do anything with ductape.

Because I trust my own... it's my bike, I'd rather make sure it's safe... also includes helping those next to me if they show any signs of being unsure.

i'll repeat myself, I've had a bike fall on mine due to shite tiedowns and tieing down, not a pleasant experience ; still maintain I pay for a service, and expect that stuff provided.
I have many bikes so no hard luggage, luggage is at a premium to me and whilst tiedowns aren't large they are still an inconvenience to carry.
do you let the ferry staff apply lubricant prior to inviting them to ream you, or do you like it dry?

its not the poor bastards tying down hundreds of cars who are to blame. I will make a point next time to offer some feedback

suitable for cars yes ,removed and installed after the people leave and before they return. No opportunity to go missing. They wouldnt take them of the bikes cos they migh fall over. Therefore opportunity presents itself for them to go missing. And they obviously do (did)

you know its not hard to clip trackers to them, even fake ones prevent a lot of people even thinking about it. By the way you talk I'd have to ask to you work for the ferry companies by chance?
