The fabled fast prick in a fast car...I've searched many roads for one to battle with but haven't been lucky yet Fastest thing I've come across which was going in my direction or about to go in my direction was a hell souped WRX (saw it in a Fast Fours or such mag as having over 400hp, recognised it from the plate)...but that was on the motorway so it was gay and not much fun.

I saw a 996 GT2 on Old North, just before Kaukapkapa a little while back, but he was going the other way and I was only just getting in to the ride...regret not turning around and having him on now though...

Doesn't matter if I get the learn, just wanna see how I can measure up...

    the search continues...

No worries mate, hopefully be going for a blat this weekend, if one of my bikes stay together long enough, so far they can only make the comute to work and back.
Be keen to come with ya in a blat in the GTR as well, be an interesting comparo to the JZA80 6spd twin turbo supra in the garage

( shitloads slower than that!)
probably cry laughing waiting for you :eyepoke:
Unfortunately when we lump our 80kg (give or take 20) asses on to a bike, it affects the above calculated ratio a lot more than the same fat ass jumping in to a 1.5 tonne car.

PS: Bikes rock, regardless, no beef.

And to add to the debate, a GTR is good for 700+hp easy and that will dust a GSXR1000 in a straightline without even breaking a sweat.

Toast: It aint no fable mate i know some of them, and there's even one or two lurking here that i know of that are more than capable of piloting a cage quicker than a bike.
Unless it's Bruce Anstey or Lance Lowe on the road, most of us are easy game.
The biggest thing is like i said is that because it's a hot car, doesn't mean the monkey behind the wheel can drive it so. It's like putting a first timer on a GSXR1000 and saying he's got one farkin fast bike he must be a good rider. Thats what we generalize most cage drivers like, hey a porshce, and when we dust the porshce we are like fuck i'm the man, smashed a porsche with a muppet driving it, would you be the same when you gave a newbie on a GSXR1000 the learn while you're riding a 250?

There are a few cars, c/w drivers, out there, that could wop 95% of riders arses reasonably easily. They just dont bother to try, most of the time and there aren't that many of them out there anyway. But, they exist - believe me.
Bang for buck - bikes - yes, but when the serious boys get serious - watch out.
    And of course, if there's rain on the road . . . . . . .

genuine GODZILLA's have a GODZILLA badge directly under the GTR badge rear of the front wheels both sides & left side of the boot ! and it isn't just a nick name!
it started as nickname! after they got banned from racing at Bathhurst because they embarressed the AUSSIES ! and that was a R28 !

The never ending cars v bikes

This argument never ends does it? It's a bit like people who think they're "fast". Everybody is "fast" until they come across someone who is "f***ing nuts". The basis for them being "f***ing nuts" is that they are faster than them. Either that or they "must have more horsepower". Oh, wank wank.

As LB will remember, even a healthy $10k car will give a few bikes a surprise... and I don't think he ever went in it when it was actually running properly!! And my old GSR wouldn't get near a 700hp GTR.

Horses for courses... I've done the fast car thing, and I'm doing the reasonably quick bike thing (yeah yeah, only a 636 I know), but I'm fully expecting to get my ass handed to me one day by a car through some twisty stuff. An 85% good driver in a "quick" car will give it to 99.8% of riders through the twisty bits.

Looked a lot like an R32 as I recall... that is the model you're referring to that Jim Richard's drove when he enlightened Australians on his opinion of them (the crowd) from the podium?

Depends on the driver and their regard for the vehicle and safety.

Ever gone trying to bust a gearbox when you've got a new one to put in... loads of fun :-D
