Hello all - must be my first post in 20 years.

I've been living overseas, mostly UK and a few other places, currently Nepal (which is an amazing place to ride). Back home at the moment visiting NZ.

Thinking about hiring a bike for a couple of weeks, probably a V-Strom or Hornet, neither of which would be my first choice but should be fun. If anyone is out for a Tauranga/Coro loop/elsewhere in the region, count me in.

I haven't got any gear here so if anyone in vicinity of Tauranga could lend me some, I'd happily repay in beers or similar.

I'd be interested in a DRZ 400 if anyone is selling - something to put in Dad's garage for subsequent visits.

Welcome home. I've heard nothing about bike hire in the North Island. BMW 650s could be had in the South. The people supplying the bikes may also have gear available.

You may have missed the best weather but good luck with finding what you're after.

google says there are motorcycles to be hired in Auckland and Wellington. I am sure gear can be hired too as Pritch says

Thanks both for response. Adrenalyn in Tauranga does rentals, sort of an unusual mix of second hand models they probably prefer to rent than sell. 650 V-Strom will probably be my choice, pretty good for most things.

They do gear as well, it's cheap enough if you just want a helmet, about as much as the bike rental if you want everything.

Anyway I'm excited to get back out on NZ roads, hope to see some of you around.
