Sorry to hear about the accident. Glad to hear you are not badly hurt. Bugger about the bike but glad you're still positive about getting another.
I hope the driver pays up and learns her lesson and teaches the wee ones to always look first properly and to respect other road users.

yeh, i could yell and scream and call her the worst names under the sun, which i will do if she doesnt at least get charged. did swear rather loudly when i got to my feet though, lmfao. just easier to be positive though. only thing im majorly pissed about is not being able to get to the gym and work. this'll be the most time ive ever had off work. ah well, never mind! it will pass, like everything and soon will be a distant memory used to teach newbies that they arent mortal like they [me] thought, lmfao.

What a bugger, Charley, that's not good news to hear. Glad you are alive, although a bit battered and bruised. What is it with people and stop signs, were they not taught what the word stop means when they learned to drive?

I have to growl at you a little though - no gloves or jacket, and jeans? Tut tut, you are VERY lucky to avoid more serious injury! Even at low speed, an off can do serious damage to your skin and we'd hate to see that happen.

Good attitude - shit happens but you're obviously not going to let it put you off bikes or turn you into a car hater! Keep smiling and enjoy relaxing for a bit until you are fit enough to go back to work.

got a call from the cops this morning...seems to get anything outta her i have to take her to civil court or something...looks like shes not even gonna get charged with anything. but she did call yesterday and say she would pay for the damages, which are worse than they seem.... bars are bent, mirror and brake lever both missing on the same side, hole in the exhaust dad says, front fender was pushed down on the tyre, and one massive as dent in the tank about the shape and size of my leg, so that accounts for the sore knee! also indicator on the brake side has had the back ripped out of it, so no longer blinks, just stays on like a light. BUT! the engine turned over and ran...dad rode her in through the gate, then couldnt stop due to no brake lever, and the footpeg is all bent up, meaning he couldnt find the foot brake. also various scrapes to side covers, forks etc. got a guy coming to do a written quote today i think, so will get photos then.

till then, who wants to doodle on my cast?

About the back, if you filed an ACC claim call them and see if it was accepted etc then physio will be free if you go to an ACC registered place.

have got the womans details...name, address etc. will have to see what mum and dad want to do, and whether the woman will pay up like she said without having to go any furthur. least she admitted she was fully in the wrong. thanks for offer...will definatly get in touch if needed.

Have you got Insurance Sunhuntin? Because if you do, lodge a claim and let ther Insurance company sort it out. You do not want to waste days of your own time sorting out compensation for an accident that isn't your fault. If she admits liability you won't have to pay an excess or lose your no-claims bonus.

I'll give you a bit of free advice. She will not pay. No one ever does. They are overcome by their own stupidity at the accident scene but within 48 hours they will have convinced themselves that it is your fault for riding a motorcycle and being young.

She will not pay you anything unless the courts make her and it will then be dribbled into your account at 50c a week for a million years.
She won't pay. If she does she will be the exception to the rule.

But she won't pay.

the bike wasnt insured either...would have cost more than she was worth. if we need to, we will drag her ass to court. will make her pay somehow...just not sure how really. going to have a guy look at the bike and give us a written quote on tuesday, so that will be interesting. will get some pics then when shes outta the shed.
