While my bike is off the road I've been getting a shuttle that goes from Wgtn Hospital to Kenepuru Hospital. Today when being driven in the comfort of the van, squished up against the window, I saw a young guy riding a scooter with NO HELMET!!

At first I thought well ok maybe he's just riding it from near the hospital to Wgtn High or Massey Uni, a bit cheeky but meh...but noooooo, I saw him on the interesection of Vivian & Willis Streets!! WTF is up with that??!!

Then I saw a rider on an gorgeous blue SV650 riding on the motorway out to Porirua wearing a pair of chunky soled slip on shoes and thin suit pants!

Now I've seen some pretty stupid things in my time riders wearing jandals, shorts, a crappy jacket but no helmet and wearing shitty shoes riding on thr MW. Oh dear, oh dear.

While they get away with it they will think it is ok. Wait until they have an accident, then they will learn the hard way.

I still dont know if that beats a guy with a full face helmet, gumboots, singlet and stubbies. It was a cold day if I remember right. HARDDDD!

Yeah hard alright, but blimmin' stubbies cut off the circulation to your legs when you sit down, so he wasn't feeling the cold.

alrighty, how about a young guy on a Red GN125? or 250 (not sure which), doing some stupid changing lanes stuff beside me, then infront of me, no decent gear, no gloves, very irratic speed and very close to car in front and then to top it all off....
he decides to undertake a huge doubledecker bus, on the inside of the left hand lane, down Blenheim road for locals, and there aint even parking spaces along that bit, probably only a metre between him and oblivian ...fuckin idiot...I was gobsmacked and so was the bus driver. he braked andmoved as far to the right as he could...betcha all the car drivers around thought "fuckin idiot motorcyclists" and me thinking "fucking moron giving us all bad name"

i have ridden several times( most of my time on bikes) with no helmet ( helmets are not compulsory in many states..) but NEVER on a motorway and never when i knew i was going to be riding hard.

i personally dont have a problem with the no helmet thing.. i DO have a problem with the no helmet thing in Auckland conditions ( stupid cagers, shit roads and a different season every 100 metres)

i know what you mean.
i was going around the basin yesterday and a guy on a gsxr was in shorts and tshirt. i quite often see a zxr around wellington with no gloves and a wife beater on (tank top)

I wouldnt know Jim2, I never wear those things, I only own boxers and they are longer than some stubbies I've almost been persuaded to wear.

There's this dick at school (exchange student from SA) that wears only a helmet. Saw him wearing shorts, tshirt and jandels one day! Oh yeah, he rides an RG150. Doesn't deserve it I say!
