    New (to me) VTR1000

Well, I just threw some money at a guy in Wellington and rode home on a '97 VTR1000.
I rode the 250 Kat down from Tauranga, with it protesting the whole way that I had not yet replaced the air filter.

Everyone had told me that if I twist the throttle too much im going to loose the front wheel, or the back wheel, or both. It sure has a lot more power than a 250!!
The position feels a lot higher, though the wrist position is the same as the kat. The seat actually feels quite comfortable and there seems to be a lot of room to move around, though I am yet to find out how it will perform after 4 hours.

This bike needs quite a bit of TLC. Some of you may have seen it on trademe, it was the silver and red one. I mostly brought it for the low kms as I would like a trouble free engine for years to come.

Well, back to Tauranga on Monday, so id better get used to riding slow!

Any hints, tips, suggestions? Cheers guys!

Congrat's on the new (to you) bike. I'll be in Tauranga for the weekend of 10 December. Trying to hire a bike for a run on that day. Keep it in mind.
