    are TlR too overpriced?

im sick of saving my money for my future and decided im getting an upgrade ,
leaning towards a TLR because well i think they are the shizz.
but is the difference between the TLS and the R worth the extra money you have to pay to get an R ?
is part of it because supply and demand?
see heaps of TLS for sale but not as many TLR out there.

    cheers.
hey sensei do you know who owned the TLR in N.P Motorcycles?

im not sure about the tlr but it does matter what year tls you get i think the 97 98 had the best power. take both for a ride they seem to be quite differant. as for if its worth the coin what would you be most happy with in your garage, lounge? cool motor

The '97 has the "better" power for sure. A raw grunt as opposed to the smoother deliverence and more mid range of the later ones.
Easy sorted if ya swap for an older chip though.

was going to say something witty/nasty about "wife told me to sell" but it'd just come out wrong, A TLR is on the horizon for me, has been ever since I asked you about yours 9 months ago! I want a TLR coz they are cool, the fairing with those ducts looks like a superbike should, and I can't see them dropping in price too severely as they are a limited commodity, the only alternatives are VTR and SV's but the TL's are a "bad boy" bike

and while I'm on this mumbojumbo rant stuff... I'm wondering if I should tell Head Office whom have blocked www.trademe.co.nz that there is the australian mirror (which I cant seem to recall).. and the www.trademe.net.nz still getting through the firewall... Talk about only doing a partial job. Sheeesh

Edit: Sorry for the hijacking.. Now back to Tillers! Bloody awesome sounding bike. Can't speak for the TLR but the TLs is bloody fantastic to ride... loverly!

I'm too much of a Nana.. I haven't found the limits of the TLs yet.. so I doubt I'd even get near those limits of a TLR...

Actually didn't think there that many differences in Engine Spec's of TLR or TLS.. though I must admit I only had a looksee at the TLS when I was eye'ing my one up to buy... haha... might be a interesting read..

Depends..TLS's go from around $7500 to $11000..TLR's from $10000 to $14000.... RRP on the TLS was around $16000 but there were deals for around $14500..TLR RRP i think was around $19000... either way if you buy one with stock suspension you are up for more money..TLS Ohlin's around $1450..TLR Ohlin's around $1700..etc...as far as the differences with the TLS,the 97 has a tiny output bearing that is known to fail, the shoulder on the output shaft is narrower to match..the 97 has the F00 ECU (most have been replaced) combined with the coolant temp sender in the radiator so it gets a low reading which then tells the ECU to run the start map most of the time (80C or lower),which is good for putting fuel in the sump...97 has bigger inlet ports..97 has no real case venting,98 got it..98 got the bigger output shaft and bearing, smaller inlet ports and different top triple clamp to take a steering damper..5 spring clutch and narrow oil pump on both the 97 and 98 S..99 TLS got the 6 spring clutch and wider oil pump (TLR spec)...difference as far as TLR and S engine overall... clutch, oil pump, sump baffle plate, inlet cams, compression ratio, forged pistons, twin injector TB's set at a flatter angle via different inlet manifolds and ECU to match, twin oil feed to the crankshaft, lighter conrods, stronger engine cases with different oil galleries, different oil filter mounting with water jacket..98 to 03 TLR is the same bike with different stickers/decals.........
