Highway 50? A veritable racetrack. Stop at the Tikokino pub and drain a glass of their artesian water. Quickly. Wait for your eyes to shrivel with the cold and drop like marbles onto the floor...

By racetrack you mean fairly straight and true? The Takas seem like a racetrack sometimes but not because of how 'true' it is...

Ride Highway 50 for yourself. Be amazed. Post a ride report.

It "meanders" over rolling countryside, some straights, some dips, it is the common shortcut to Napier and points north. Most rideworhy. When were you thinking of going?
Experience......something you get just after you needed it

Thanks Sels. Might go in the next couple of weeks. Organising friends schedules in Hastings and potential riding companions in welly.

And the local 5-0 know this..... tho usually it is vermin-free.
Do you realise how many holes there could be if people would just take the time to take the dirt out of them?

    Buy a map....

Just before the Tikokino pub there is a road off to the right (facing napier)

Argyll East, Te Onepu and end up at Bridge Pa. NZ country roads at their finest...

travel up to Hawkes Bay every couple of weeks in the cage for work and always take the highway 50 option. Much more interesting way to go and has been mentioned there are usually very few impediments to spirited riding if you get my drift.
