    That D'oh moment.....

I had mine tonight. I have been playing with my Honda CB400F for a couple of months, giving it new tyres chain and sprockets, cosmetic tidy up etc etc.

last job was oil and filter change and its ready for carb sync etc etc.

tidying up my workbench tonight I found the spring that holds the bloody oil filter in place, and I cant find the seat that bears up against the oil filter. I suspect it was glued in place with the old oil and discarded with the old filter.

so now I get to try and find something that will replace the seat (its just a big washer really.. must have something I can use) and then drain the new oil out, assemble the filter properly, and then hopefully re use the oil which has been 30kms.

    grrrrrrr.

leaving it till later in the week.. I cant face it tonight.

I was under the impression that the oil filters have seats/ washers on them when you buy them. Good luck though.

Yeah...if you're talking about the same big washer thing I think you are...they normally give you a nice new one with the filter.

Id get some original parts instead of trying to make something else do, could become a big hassle
