So ... I got my scooter back.

I got this phone call a couple of evenings ago. Aparrently the Police had found my scooter and if I bought a trailer up I could go get it. So this afternoon I trundled up to get it.

I have a sneaky suspicion it was a waste of time. It has no bodywork, no mirrors, no ignition (obviously), no reg, no wof, doesn't start and has been dropped *really* hard a few times. There's a split in the crank case and one of the petrol lines is scuffed - so it's pissed petrol everywhere. We can hotwire it and get it to turn over but ... no start.

However, apparently the police actually stopped someone on this fine vehicle and I'm waiting for them to call me back regarding "what do we do now". I.e. are you going to kick this twat's arse or what? And how do I go about getting the undoubtedly young and stupid criminal in quiestion to part with a grand or so for my trouble?

Again, I think I might be wasting my time

If they got it from your house I'd be wary if ya utu them as they could always come back...wankers!
