if the job requires, you can obtain an exemption under special conditions. And I think the whole list of exemptions can fit on your little toe nail. However, I don't want to see it. What sucks, is that TM is banned at work, so I can't see this link..

I'll check tonight, and probably see 214 unanswered questions on the whole '400-on-a-restricted' issue.. I do think that it should be ok to graduate to a 400 on a restricted tho. Make the jump to bigger bikes a bit easier when you obtain your full..

haha i asked that, he pretty much made out he got the exemption as he already owned the bike, and told LTSA or whoever he was going to ride it either way, and he got an exemption out of that

Bullshit, so they way he claims is that a learner could go out, buy a busa and say to the GVT, hey sorry helen, I have the bike now so Im going to ride if you like it or not.

And then Helen going, "Ah, sweet as Cuzzie, dat do OK"

Yeah, but the government are too thick headed to know that. They let total noobs ride RS250s under the current law

You don't understand what I mean. If the Govt let him ride the bike because of him saying well I have the bike and will ride it wether or not you let me means that anyone could do it.

i completely understand what you are saying, but what i'm saying is that a cbr is only 150cc over the limit whereas a busa is 1050cc over the limit, so it's more of a slight bending of the rules than a complete and utter idiotic decision to let someone ride a busa when they aren't qualified

Small point here...not the Govt (they wouldn't know the diff on cc size) but LTSA (who would). Have heard of restricted getting exemptions for a 400 but good excuses needed. Doubt a learner would though (and shouldn't either IMHO).

is it cause he would squash a 250 due to his massive size.??
What a prick saying that anyone can go get an exemtion easily

As buggie says.. i bet the criteria woudl be strict.

    how about

"i ride with the litre club boys often and have difficulty keeping up on the straights, therefore i need my GSXr750"

"i'd also like an exemption to carry pillions as being blonde, hot and on a sexy bike, my pulling ability would be duely increased and how else am i supposed to get these guys home for a shag?"

    Think that would work??
