    FAT?

I think you all need to settle down some!

When i was thinking of applying i rang LTSA and spoke to the person who obviously is in charge of making the decision.

Weight or size did not come into the equation.

I explained that i was currently riding a 400cc motorbike to polytech every day.

We talked about the parking at tech and how it was a real problem. After her advise to apply i went to local AA and filled in form with Details of bike and main use.

About a week later i recieved a letter in the mail and a new licence with Indorsment note on back.

Im not trying to led people the wrong way and hopefully will sell to a full licenced rider anyway.

THis is a sick bike and im thinking about saving the hastle and keeping it.

Its cracks me up at how little it takes to get the Forum peeps upset.

it's not really a little thing tho if someone on there r buys it for $4000 or whatever you are asking then finds they can't ride it, i'm sure they will be a little pissed off that they were told they would be able to ride it on there restricted

I personally think the bigger (med sized) bikes ARE easier to ride... safer (in the hands of a newbie) is a whole other issue.
$2,000 cash if you find a buyer for my house, kumeuhouseforsale@straightshooters.co.nz for details

Isnt it buyer beware with anything? Oh, yea, we all believe what the seller tells us. What, is there a shortage of 250cc and under bikes? I just dont get the whole arguement quite frankly, apart from the misleading ad, Im sure its not the first, nor the last.

ahh yeah there is actually, just ask any dealer, why do you think cbr250's etc are 15 years on selling for almost the same price they would have cost new

I bet it's a conspiracy! I bet there's heaps of 250s available but it's easier and cheaper for the dealer to sell few bikes for heaps of money instead of heaps of bikes at a resonable price.

    (Don't worry Sarge, I'm kidding)

Btw, do you reckon if I got a 500 MXer road legal, could I get a exemption to ride that around on my restricted?

OK so Ive never been in the 250cc market, thanks for that, I stand corrected. But never would have thought there was actually a shortage. We were actually discussing this for our soon to be 15yr old the other night. The fact that, he can get his bike learners a go ride without a fully licenced rider(driver) with him, but in a car has to wait another six months for that priviidge.

Has anybody had fine for riding 400 on Restricted.

Hey, maybe somebody out there is angry because they wish they had got an exemption?

Has anybody had a fine for this?

I know that i never had to even pull my exemption out!!!!

I was pulled over a few times, only for speeding once, never was i asked about size of bike or questioned about conditions.

I'm sure that there is a bunch of riders out there riding 400's on Restricted.

If you look at mine it has no cc ratings, and you can only really tell if you look at rego.

And even then the cop has got to really have it in for ya to slap dirty fine on ya.

SPEEDING IS A DIFFERENT STORY, you may have to write a good letter to get off those.

cheers for the heads up on my auction guys, did not mean to upset yall.

    Now here's a plan...

find the single fattest bastard in NZ, pay him 20 bucks to sit on a 25 with a big dumb look on his face, then an 'after' shot of him on a 600 with a smile...send the photo in to the LTSA, say it's you...and you might get some love and an exemption to ride a 600.

Oh well, got full now anyway

BTW, Suney, hurry up and buy a new bike dude!!

i was granted an exemption to ride between the time of midnight and 12.30am due to work. i had to provide a letter from my supervisor stating my hours of work. it was granted, no worries. honestly, i find midnight a safer time to ride than say 9pm....no traffic anywhere.
