the main reason for *that* is that there are wise heads running the automotive engineering outfits who don't want to let the reckless and feckless likes of you anywhere near systems that can control whether someone lives or dies.

a few years out in industry building really groovy fly-by-wire things and watching them fail in unexpectedly interesting ways will calm you down a lot about that concept, believe me.

when it comes to automotive machinery, just give me a lever and a place to stand...

I was going to go back that Friday to test a bike but he sold it during the week - AND he rang me to tell me that so I wouldn't waste my time heading back there. If he'd had something I really wanted, I wouldn't have had any hesitation buying from him even though we live in Levin.

hey Beemer.. i remember you now ( yes Same Dallas)
    ..did you hit the cruise?

Once met, never forgotten eh, Sarge! We planned on catching the dinner cruise but went to visit some relatives in Paihia and by the time we'd finished yapping the cruise had left - boo hoo! So we went to Esmae's Restaurant instead - great food, even if the view wasn't so good!

There is a bike shop in Auckland I will never buy a bike from as long as the sun shines down. I bought my second bike from this establishment and i was a dumb ass teenager. 24 hours after buying it the chain came off smashing the chain cover. 3 days later the gearshift oil seal blew off throwing oil all over the back tyre and leaving me sitting on my ass on the ground.
The owner of said bikeshop was in his ute with a half loaded trailer and was forced to stop due to the carnage caused by 2.5 ltrs of oil dumped out of my bikes crankcase. I sked him to pickup the bike -"nahhh mate bring it to us on monday morning we might have a look at it" was his reaction.
I got home at 3am the next morning.
Said owner has no memory of this but I do OHHH YES C########T I do
