That's one of the pro's about getting these lights, at night you'll be seen from miles away, it's a good safety thing, no doubt lots or HD riders would like it, they'd get even more attention that way...... .....those who do it for the looks/fashion and not the lifestyle......

go to the great emporium that is trademe... look up 'step light'... you get 3 superbright LED's pre wired in a chromed plastic casing... and for $18 the guy will send you four of these setups.

its as simple as hooking them all up to the battery with a switch in the circuit some where... what i do is run all the LED setups in parallel (join up all the -ves all the +ves) take hook one end up to the battery, hook the other end up to a switch and then to the battery.

otherway is to join all the positives through a switch to the battery, then the negative leads just need to be earthed to the frame.

You know what I mean, not just adding bot on bits to create the illusion of a custom bike build. I suppose I'm fairly old school when talk starts about custom bikes.

I'll just take my zimmer frame over here.... turnips they were.... and old Jimmy Hitler he didn't like that.... or was that when I was 16?....

Lol yea I know what you mean. Not a fan of factory built accesories either but sometimes it's the cheaper option. Also sometime you cant go with having your bike down for so long to be able to fully re-work it.

Well I wear jeans around the bottom of my arse and also on my waist and the parts in between. I don't wear a cap sideways and cher and bro are things I would never say but...

I like the lights...its like having a wee secret and bringing it out at night. The bikes look great on display with their paint effects and crome details all lit up!!

I think this might work best on a cruiser though (I like crusiers so maybe that's why I like the lights).

Casue lets face it...crusiers are so much more than just the ride!

So I vote its hot...go on...be an innovator too...

Next year it will be all the rage :-) lol

Must save the link for someone I know...he has leds on the bottom of his custom painted bike and on the aircaps on the wheel. Love the effect when he rides at night.

Total show stopper and pretty! :spudwave:

I rigged four of the 'step light' LED units to the rear of the FXR and it did a good looking job of illuminating the rear tyre and swingarm. I would not recommend those tyre valve LED things as they are just shit - they don't work on bike tyres as the stems are not at the correct angle to trigger the switch, hence you get a flashing light that flashes randomly instead of a solid glowing ring.

None of those bikes will get hit by a driver that didn't see them. I reckon that alone is worth it.

    Arrow Hot.

Although I would probably not want to ride them on the road for fear of some idiot damaging the machine.

There is this dude in New Plymouth who has blue tubes under his wheelchair. Certainly causes a few looks as he cruises the strip on a Friday evening...
